This plant-based banquet conveyed a mythical story created by Deep Food. The plot around imaginary creatures was delivered using each dish as scenes served alongside dance movements and an immersive theatrical setting interweaving the edible experience. The performance engaged its audiences to think and feel the issue of food waste and the societal values behind this social phenomenon via their five senses. 

 

Teamed with contemporary dance group TS Crew and Rooot, a restaurant that advocates the use of local ingredients, the dinner combines exquisite food with contemporary art to present a story inspired by modern culinary culture. 

 

The project explored how mythical stories inspired by traditional Asian folktales can characterise plant-based ingredients as mythological creatures, promoting empathy towards food waste and broader societal values associated with the issue.
